Our critic says
“As a story of how two little girls worked hard for their success, supported and encouraged by parents who believed in them, it’s wholly satisfying; the picture skims along on its own ambitious energy, and on the strength of just about every one of its performances. It’s one of those crowd-pleasing movies that doesn’t make you feel embarrassed to be part of the crowd—you feel buoyed rather than talked down to.”
Dont Look Up
The latest film from The Big Short and Vice writer-director Adam McKay takes on our collective apathy when it comes to the environment, through the neat lens of an asteroid hurtling towards earth and two scientists' futile attempts to warn and prepare the world. It's garnered mixed responses from critics and audiences, but the star-studded cast and biting satire are fodder to the Academy, and make Don't Look Up a worthy watch for everyone – after all, we only have one planet. Where to watch: Available on Netflix.
Set around Christmas 1991 on the Royal Sandringham Estate, Spencer focuses on Princess Diana's experiences among the Royal Family and staff as her marriage to Prince Charles reaches its final turn and Diana rediscovers what makes her a Spencer. Kristen Stewart's considered, masterful portrayal of Diana has received rave reviews, placing her firmly in contention for the best actress award. Where to watch: Available to rent on Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV.

Who is hosting?
For the last several years, the Oscars have gone hostless—Jimmy Kimmel was the show’s last host in 2018—however this year the ceremony will not only be helmed by an emcee, it will in fact have three: Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer, and Regina Hall.
The move marks the firs time in Oscars history that the awards show will be hosted by three women (the last time the show had a trio of hosts was in 1987 when Chevy Chase, Goldie Hawn, and Paul Hogan did the honors.)
How to watch the Oscars online
ABC will be live streaming its Academy Awards coverage on its website and app. To access it, go to the ABC website and click on the “live TV” button. Then, all you have to do to watch online is to log in with your TV provider details.
Unfortunately, that does mean that those without a cable subscription will be unable to watch the event live on the ABC site or app.
There are ways, however, to watch the Oscars online for free. A number of live TV streaming services online offer free trials and include ABC as part of their package. Among the providers who offer free trials to watch network TV online include Hulu Plus Live TV, YouTube TV, Fubo and Sling.
